Extra Virgin “Taggiasca” Olive Oil


Always being interested about the olive cultivation and the oil production, in 2007 we met Danilo Grossi, owner of the nice restaurant “Ai Torki”, sit in Villa Faraldi (IM).
He himself is a farmer, as it is he who cares his olive plants, as well as oil-miller and restaurateur; his main aim is to reach the best quality in basic commodities.
While speaking with him, an idea came to us: trying to product extravirgin olive oil for our family and friends.

It was this way that we bought a land with 175 olive plants, which are of the special kind “taggiasca” and from 120 up to 150 years old. They are on the mountain between the boroughs of Villa Faraldi and San Bartolomeo al Mare (IM), about 400 metres above the sea level on the Appennino Ligure.

In the olive grove, as in the vineyards, we do by ourselcves all the works; being the mountain very steep, all the works are to be done by hand: the pruning, the cutting of the grass and the harvest.
